To Know Christ And Make Him Known

Pastor Jack Austin

Pastor Jack began his ministry as senior pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in 2018, but served as an associate pastor here since 2002. His desire for Calvary is that “we would excel in making disciples for Christ and that we would leave such a mark on our community that all would know that this church family loves them as our Savior does…whether or not they ever come to a service or event we host.”

Reared in a Christian home with a family that was committed to their Baptist church, he witnessed his parents serve faithfully in several ways and trusted Christ as his Savior through the ministry of an evangelist that spent 8 straight days with their church family. His teen years were devoted to church life and youth group activities. God used those experiences to direct Jack to vocational ministry and eventually to Bible college for formal pastoral training (Bachelor’s of Arts – Faith Baptist Bible College, Ankeny, IA; Master’s of Ministries – Baptist Bible Seminary, Clarks Summit, PA) .

Jack and the love of his life, Sue, have been married for over 4 decades but  “… they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her” (Genesis 29:20). God has blessed them with 4 grown children who now serve the Lord in Michigan and Indiana. They praise God for the blessings of daughters-in-law and the joys of 7 grandchildren.

He enjoys the woods and water – especially in the fall, is easily drawn to American history, and has grown in wisdom in what is a ‘manageable’ woodworking project. (Feel free to ask him for a good home-remodeling story or two.)
